This beautiful mountain rises 5,155ft above the beautiful Pacific. It is the highest coastal mountain in the lower 48! This trail is considered very challenging and conditions vary during the season. We will start our hike from Highway 1 and gain 1400 + feet over 5 miles to our base camp. There we will set up camp and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing streamside beneath an old-growth redwood forest going over many aspects of backpacking. The following morning we will break camp early and day hike to the peak and back which will be 12.5 miles and 3600ft in elevation gain. Once we return to camp we will wash up, rest, eat, and probably sleep quickly. The following morning we will break camp and return to HWY1.
